British food

Hello everyone! :)

British customs and traditions are famous all over the world, not only Europe. Today I and my friends from the school went to taste the famous "fish and chips". British food has traditionally been based on beef, pork, fish and others. In the 19th century, fish became a part of British culture, and is the most popular and known dish from UK, but it is also known in other places.

Almost every town has at least one "fish and chips" shop, and London is no exception. We went to Oxford Street to eat "fish and chips". We went there because our British teacher told us that the food there was very good. Oxford Street is Europe's busiest shopping street, and it comes more than hundreds of tourist every year. After we ate there, we went shopping. In Oxford Street there are more than 200 hundred shops. So we had a lot to watch.

The food of England is one of the least known internationally. We learnd in class of cooking their origins, customs and other stuff related to the british kitchen. The food of England is based on traditional local dishes. England has many typical dishes and desserts, and it is one of the most incorporating dishes from other cultures. In fact, the food of England consists of a set of customs and it is adapted by the island climate, its history, love for other European and Asian food which has received some influences that can be noticed not only in food the preparation of the plates but also in the ingredients. The traditional dishes of England has ancient roots, such as making bread and cheese, roasts, fish sea or river, all mixed with chilies from the United States, species and curries India-based fried Chinese cuisine and Thai cuisine. They have also adapted the traditional dishes of French and Italian cuisine. In addition, the cuisine of England has been one of the first to adopt the typical fast food fast food from the United States.

Typical dishes of England

One of the most traditional dishes is the fish and chips which I wrote about in the start of this blogpost. Another typical cuisine of England, a little more elaborate dish, is found in Cornwall and is called pasty is a meat pie, vegetables and potatoes. In Yorkshire we found the roast beef and pudding, regarded as a national dish. Also typical dishes of meat with sauce (roasted pork and lamb). We can define the cuisine of England as the quality of their roast served with different sauces varied and elaborate. The cuisine of England also offers baking recipes. Examples include pancakes, fruit pies, chocolate and cheese, Bake well cake, and other desserts also very typical in Nordic countries such as Holland.

A little bit of the ingredients of the food of England

The traditional cuisine of England is not considered a kitchen with use of spices as a food seasoning, however the kitchen today, if it is because of the historical relationship with India. The most typical meats are beef and pork and are usually served grilled and topped with various sauces and as mentioned before with spiced vegetables. As far as the fish are concerned, this is very typical in coastal counties. The most typical are salmon, in all its varieties, Sewino or salmon trout, etc.

British food consists of a set of customs and food adapted not only to the climate of the islands, but because of its history, and interactions with other European and Asian cultures (Chinese and Indian food) has received certain influences that can be noticed, not only in the preparation of the dishes, but in the ingredients. Traditional dishes have very ancient roots, such as the preparation of bread and cheese, roast, fish from the waters of the sea or rivers, all mixed with chili from North America, spices and curries India and Bangladesh, based fried Chinese and Thai food. The French cuisine and Italian cuisine considered in the past as something alien and admired today to the point of being copied.
